Whenever you want to use the SNAPSHOT archetypes you must then reference this settings.xml file by using mvn -s settings.xml. OSGi true osgi-archetype true fail true warn To complete the tutorials with a SNAPSHOT version of the enRoute archetypes paste the following Maven project skeleton to a file named settings.xml in your project root directory. The released OSGi enRoute archetypes and indexes can therefore be used easily, but some extra work is required if you want to use SNAPSHOT versions. Maven automatically searches for archetypes in the Maven Central repository, but it will not discover archetypes from other repositories without additional configuration.
If you’re using enRoute for the first time, or just want to use the released archetypes then don’t worry about this section. Don't worry, we'll give you a reminder when describing any places that are affected. It is therefore important that you put the correct target Java version in your `bndrun` files. The creators of Java made some breaking changes in Java 9, and these affect lots of Java programs including the OSGi enRoute examples! OSGi enRoute knows how to cope with these changes, but only if it knows where it will be running.
